WHY WE WERE FOUNDED

Democracy should not require political connections.

Our Liberty began in the Rio Grande Valley from a simple idea: people should be able to understand their government, identify who has authority, and make themselves heard. Our Liberty brings voter tools, civic education, public advocacy, and policy work into one place so residents can move from concern to participation.

OUR ISSUES

Human dignity is the starting point.

Civil Rights

Equal dignity, equal protection, and accountable government.

Explore position +

We support civil liberties, due process, privacy, freedom of expression and assembly, equal treatment under the law, and government institutions that respect the rights and dignity of every person.

Immigrant Rights

Dignity and rights do not depend on where someone was born.

Explore position +

We support humane immigration policies, due process, family unity, access to reliable Know Your Rights information, and fair treatment of immigrants and mixed-status families in our communities.

Healthcare

Healthcare is a human right.

Explore position +

We support affordable and accessible healthcare, preventive care, mental health services, maternal health, stronger community health resources, and the freedom of women to make personal healthcare decisions without unnecessary government interference.

Education

Strong public schools and real opportunity for every student.

Explore position +

We support well-funded public schools, accessible higher education, college and workforce opportunities, fair treatment of students and educators, and policies that allow young people to build their futures regardless of income or ZIP code.

Environment

South Texas communities deserve clean water, protected land, and a healthy future.

Explore position +

We advocate for responsible development, coastal protection, water security, drainage infrastructure, environmental accountability, and greater attention to environmental burdens placed on low-income communities. This can include local concerns involving industrial development and SpaceX impacts when community health, ecosystems, public access, or infrastructure are affected.

Voting Rights

Democracy works when people can participate.

Explore position +

We support accessible voter registration, trustworthy election information, fair access to the ballot, protection of voting rights, and tools that help residents participate confidently in elections.
